How It Works

From assessment to installed charger — here's exactly what happens

ChargeClarity is a free referral service. We assess your home, match you with a vetted local installer, and stay with you through the quote process. No pressure, no obligation.

The process

Three steps to your home charger

01

Take the free assessment

Answer a few questions about your EV, your home's electrical panel, and where you want the charger installed. Our assessment engine evaluates your setup and gives you an instant complexity rating — simple, moderate, or complex — along with a charger recommendation tailored to your vehicle.

The assessment takes about 2 minutes. No account required, no personal information collected at this stage.

02

Get matched with a vetted installer

Based on your assessment results, we connect you with a licensed electrical contractor in the Louisville area who has the right experience for your install type. You receive a detailed estimate — not a ballpark — based on your actual home details.

Currently, ChargeClarity's primary installation partner is Mr. Plug Pro Electric, a licensed Louisville-area electrical contractor. See our Referral Disclosure for full details on this relationship.

03

Schedule and get it installed

Once you approve the estimate, the contractor coordinates directly with you to schedule the installation. Most standard Level 2 installs are completed in 2–4 hours. You'll receive permit documentation and a walkthrough of your new charger.

ChargeClarity is not the installer. We are a referral service. The contract for installation work is between you and the electrical contractor.

Installer standards

How we vet installation partners

We only refer homeowners to contractors who meet a defined set of requirements. Here's what we check.

Licensed & insured

All partner contractors must hold a current Kentucky or Indiana electrical contractor license and carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance.

EV charger installation experience

Partners must have documented experience with Level 2 EVSE installations, including permit-required work and panel assessments.

Permit compliance

We require that all installations include the appropriate electrical permit. We do not refer contractors who offer to skip the permit process.

Transparent pricing

Partners are expected to provide written estimates before work begins. No surprise charges after the fact.

Local to the service area

We work with contractors who are based in or regularly serve the Louisville metro area, including Southern Indiana.

Referral disclosure

ChargeClarity has a referral relationship with its installation partners. We are transparent about this. See our full Referral Disclosure for details.

ChargeClarity earns a referral fee when an installation is completed through our service. This does not affect the price you pay. Read our full Referral Disclosure →
